When searching for relief from chronic or acute pain and inflammation, CBD can be one of the best choices.

At Blooming Botanicals, we’re partial to CBD remedies that include synergistic properties of other powerful herbs and plants, such as turmeric.

When combining the power of CBD with the natural support that other plants provide, we see more consistent and sustained comfort and an overall increase in quality of life.

Best CBD Oil For Pain Relief

CBD oil is a natural oil that contains cannabidiol (CBD), a non-psychoactive compound found in the cannabis plant.

There are many CBD oil products available on the market, and the best one for pain relief may vary depending on an individual’s specific needs and preferences. Here are a few things to consider when looking for the best CBD oil for pain relief:

Quality

Search for CBD oil made from high-quality, organic hemp plants and third-party lab-tested for purity and potency.

Type of CBD

Full-spectrum CBD oil contains all the natural compounds found in the hemp plant, including other cannabinoids and terpenes, which may enhance the therapeutic effects of CBD. However, some people prefer to use CBD isolate, which contains only pure CBD.

Dosage

Consider the dosage of CBD oil, as well as the concentration of CBD in the product. Higher concentrations may be more effective for pain relief, but they can also be more expensive.

Delivery Method

Consider the method of delivery that works best for you, such as sublingual drops, capsules, or topicals. It’s important to consult with a healthcare professional before using CBD for pain relief, especially if you are taking other medications or have any underlying health conditions.

How Does CBD Help With Pain Relief?

CBD (cannabidiol) can help with pain relief through a variety of mechanisms in the body. It interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), which regulates pain, among other functions. CBD (cannabidiol) may help with pain relief in several ways:

Reducing inflammation

CBD has anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce inflammation throughout the body. Reducing inflammation can help alleviate pain, as it is often associated with pain.

Interacting with neurotransmitters

CBD interacts with neurotransmitters in the body, including serotonin and dopamine, which are involved in pain perception. By interacting with these neurotransmitters, CBD may help reduce the sensation of pain.

Interacting with the endocannabinoid system

CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system, which plays a role in regulating pain perception. By interacting with this system, CBD may help reduce pain.

Blocking Pain Receptors

CBD may also help block pain receptors in the body, which can reduce the sensation of pain.

Overall, CBD may help alleviate pain by reducing inflammation, interacting with neurotransmitters and the endocannabinoid system, and blocking pain receptors.

However, it’s important to note that researchers need more studies to gain a complete understanding of how CBD operates and its potential impacts on pain.

What CBD Is Best for Pain Relief?

Let’s define the type of pain being experienced before making product recommendations. Is your pain persistent and severe? Is it in your muscles and joints, or somewhere else?

Understanding whether you’re experiencing chronic or acute pain helps guide the decision between a CBD tincture or a salve for relief from pain and inflammation.

Where salves can provide immediate relief from soreness, discomfort or tension, tinctures are better suited to provide relief for longer lasting and persistent pain.

If you’re experiencing both types of pain, salves and massage oils are helpful as-needed supplements for a consistent tincture regimen.

There’s more to natural pain relief than CBD, however, which is why we’ve spent years formulating our product recipes to include the healing properties of herbs and plants.

CBD Salve For Pain

When using plant-based salves for pain relief, it’s important to choose products that contain high-quality, organic ingredients and are free of harmful chemicals and additives.

It’s also important to consult with a healthcare professional before using these products, especially if you have any underlying health conditions or are taking other medications.

In our salves, we include Burdock, Calendula, Comfrey, Lavender, Eucalyptus and Tangerine. We included each one of these plants for different reasons:

Burdock

Burdock plant growing

Burdock root’s anti-inflammatory and antibacterial components may help different skin conditions, like wrinkles, eczema, acne, and psoriasis when applied topically. A small observational study found burdock may help with inflammatory types of acne.

Calendula

Calendula flowers growing.

People use the dried petals of the calendula plant in tinctures, ointments, and washes to treat burns, bruises, and cuts, as well as the minor infections they cause. Calendula has also demonstrated its ability to help prevent dermatitis or skin inflammation in people with breast cancer during radiation therapy.

Comfrey

Comfrey plant leaves and blooms.

Some people apply comfrey (Symphytum officinale) to the skin to treat wounds and reduce inflammation from sprains and broken bones. Comfrey roots and leaves contain allantoin, a substance that helps new skin cells grow, along with other substances that reduce inflammation and keep skin healthy.

Lavender

Lavender plant.

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) is an evergreen plant native to the Mediterranean. The flower and oil have a popular scent and also serve as medicine. Lavender contains an oil that seems to have calming effects and might relax certain muscles and can help with deep sleep. It also seems to have antibacterial and antifungal effects.

Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus leaves have many impressive benefits. They may help decrease pain, promote relaxation, and relieve cold symptoms. Many over-the-counter products also use eucalyptus extract to freshen your breath, soothe irritated skin, and repel insects.

Tangerine

A pile of tangerines, one with the skin peeled.

Besides killing bacteria, tangerine oils also have a cytoplastic effect—they cause new skin cells to grow faster. Beauty experts recommend applying them to prevent skin aging and to heal burns and other skin damage.

This also reduces signs of cellulite. Combined together with CBD, these plants support both immediate relief and long-term support for inflammation and pain.

Plus, the combination of herbs and plants makes our salves smell refreshing and delightful.

How Does Turmeric Help Your Body?

People have used turmeric as a spice in traditional medicine practices for centuries, especially in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine. Turmeric contains a compound called curcumin, which is believed to be responsible for many health benefits.

Here are some ways that turmeric can help your body:

Anti-Inflammatory

Turmeric has potent anti-inflammatory properties, which may help reduce inflammation throughout the body. Inflammation is linked to many chronic diseases, including arthritis, heart disease, and cancer.

Antioxidant

Turmeric is also a powerful antioxidant. This means it can help protect the body against damage caused by harmful molecules known as free radicals.

Boosts Brain Function

Studies have shown that curcumin in turmeric increases levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which is a type of growth hormone that supports the growth and survival of brain cells.

Helps Prevent Cancer

Some studies suggest that curcumin in turmeric may help prevent the growth and spread of certain types of cancer cells, including breast, colon, and prostate cancer cells.

Improves Heart Health

Turmeric may help improve heart health by reducing inflammation and oxidative stress. As well as by improving the function of the lining of blood vessels.

Overall, turmeric may help support overall health by reducing inflammation, acting as an antioxidant, boosting brain function, helping prevent cancer, and improving heart health.

However, researchers need to conduct more studies to gain a complete understanding of the health benefits of turmeric and its active compound, curcumin.

How is Turmeric CBD Oil Made?

Our Turmeric blend combines the power of full spectrum CBD with CO2 extracted turmeric and black pepper to create a robust anti-inflammatory blend.

We chose to use a supercritical CO2 extraction of turmeric and black pepper versus the regular turmeric spice powders you would see in the store because they are much more potent.

The turmeric spice has on average 3% curcumin where the CO2 extract increases that number to 95%, greatly increasing its benefit to the body.

More information about the benefits of turmeric can be found here.
