Minty, creamy and delicious, what’s not to love about a classic St. Patrick’s Day Shamrock Shake?

We’re here for it…but there’s a catch! Drive-thru Shamrock Shakes may be deliciously convenient, but not without paying the price.

A traditional fast food restaurant shamrock shake contains a whopping 54 ingredients (in the traditional McDonald’s Shamrock Shake recipe), including high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, dyes, and a slew of ingredients we are unable to pronounce.

Health Benefits of Peppermint Oil, Cacao Nibs, and Full-Spectrum CBD

1. Peppermint Oil

Peppermint oil has been used for centuries in holistic medicine to assist with digestion, PMS symptoms, and general relaxation to help uplift the mind, body, and spirit. It is recognized widely in Ayurvedic medicine, which originated in India and has been around 3,000+ years.

You may be familiar with peppermint oil from your variety of essential oils used for aromatherapy, but did you know consuming it and metabolizing peppermint oil in the body offers these incredible health benefits?

Peppermint oil can…

  • Help refresh your respiratory system and sinuses to breathe easier, whether you have a cold, illness, or just have a stuffy nose!
  • Relax your mind and body, leading to an uplifted mood
  • Be used as an antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory!
  • Help relieve menstrual cramps

2. Cacao Nibs

Cacao nibs are packed with antioxidants, even more than other superfoods, like blueberries, green tea, pomegranates and nearly 4x the antioxidants found in traditional dark chocolate!

What’s so great about antioxidants?

They improve your health on a cellular level by clearing out debris and what are known as “free radicals” from your cells. Free radicals lead to oxidative stress and illness in the body, making antioxidants very important to support your overall health and wellbeing.

Give me a [mood] boost

On top of improving cellular health, Cacao has been shown to improve mood by triggering “feel good” chemicals in the brain like Serotonin. In addition to Serotonin, Cacao nibs generally contain Anandamide, an amino acid also found in most full spectrum CBD that is referred to as the “bliss molecule.” Ananda means “joy” or “bliss” in Sanskrit. And while everyone can benefit from a mood boost, Cacao nibs can be particularly helpful in mitigating symptoms of depression, anxiety, and PMS.

According to Livestrong.com, “Due to their antioxidant properties, phenolic cocoa ingredients [like cacao] may induce cancer cell death, according to a 2016 study featured in the Oxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity.”

3. Blooming Botanicals Original Full Spectrum CBD

CBD is a non-psychoactive holistic health supplement that holds many of the same healing properties as medical marijuana without the buzz. Over the past few years, CBD quickly emerged as a top health supplement for holistic health practitioners because it is an all natural, plant-based solution. With little to no negative side effects, like with so many traditional medicines, people quickly jumped on board with using CBD as part of their solution to overcome their mental, physical, and emotional ailments.

CBD has the potential to help greatly with:

  • Pain and inflammation
  • Stress relief
  • Mitigating symptoms of anxiety
  • Mitigating symptoms of depression
  • Reducing brain fog
  • Improving sleep quality
  • Workout recovery
  • Overall health and wellbeing

The list of CBD benefits goes on and on. In short, CBD helps our endocannabinoid system thrive, which is responsible for keeping the nervous system, immune system, and almost all other bodily systems working harmoniously. And by taking full-spectrum CBD vs. broad spectrum CBD, or another type of CBD, you’re also receiving the full spectrum of health benefits. Full spectrum essentially means it is the whole package, nothing is removed, so all the plant compounds are working together to give you the greatest therapeutic impact, which is why we love adding it to delicious recipes for an extra dose of wellness!
